Some jobs have deadlines and others have DEADLINES. This one came in with a 3-day deadline a bunch of work to it. So let's get straight in, shall we?
Keyhan requested a piece for his upcoming EP. Having worked with him before, his order wasn't surprising.
He wanted his physical path in life depicted - as in, all the places he's lived to where he is now. Simple and sleek.
Thankfully, he also sent some reference images with his request. Our final brief looked something like this:

Brief:
Milad Tower all the way in the back - where he started; followed by the Burj Khalifa a little closer. Yet a step closer, we'd have the Prudential tower; to be followed by a classic LA palm tree street. And all the way upfront him standing at a beach coastline with water.

Now you can see how all these things and the words 'simple and sleek' feel like they don't mesh. Yeah, I had the same initial reaction. Anyway, a day in and a bunch of sketching later there was light at the end of the tunnel!

Before jumping ahead. I created all the main elements I knew I was going to use:

Then I tried placing them whilst creating the water. I'll show you. But seriously, let's not talk about it.
There were way more of these... Eventually I decided to use the sleek and simple as a guide for HOW the object are designed rather than the whole composition being sleek and simple. Also, I flipped him 'cause I wasn't vibing with this position...
Both of us agreed this was already a big step forward. It was still lacking details and the trees were palm trees... but not very LA. More stranded desert vibes... Also, the actual road was still missing.
LONG story short. We adjusted the trees, the road and added clouds, beach details and a whole lotta grain and managed to finish just in time.

I present to you..... *drumroll*... the final.
The EP hasn't been released just yet, but be sure to check in here or on my socials occasionally to experience the final project.
