Software Used: Adobe Animate & Adobe Premiere Pro

Sometime in May of 2020 I received a really cool assignment to create a lyric video for Miki's new single 'Burning Slow'. The lyrics were incredibly inspiring and instantly got my ideas flowing. After a couple of back and forths, I'd gathered the following.
Brief:
A Sketched, frame by frame, 'cute' animation with an ongoing theme of a candle that slowly burns throughout the whole video and eventually blows out at the end when it has reached the bottom.
We knew we'd want a view out of a window with a tree and a swing right outside, with slight changes to the scenery every now and then. With the candle sitting infront of us on the window sill and lyrics being written on to the screen as you hear them.

So I attempted a first still draft of our 'stage'
Liking the general vibe, Miki and her producer, Emanuel wanted to see how it would look like if there was a city in the distance instead of a road with houses. Leading us to Still #2.
They approved the city background so I began the animation process.
Certain things changed, like the placing of the candle, more detail to the window sill as well as trees and addition details to the lake.
I had asked Miki for little personal details to include in the video - little easter eggs, if you will. So if you look closely her dog will appear quickly, and a bunch of birds occasionally.

After a couple of days and the occasional update we'd wrapped up the animation phase, quickly threw the whole thing into premiere to add some textures on it and a lyric video was ready to be released. Enjoy the whole video up top!
